Four-star safety Zech Fort has committed to the University of Georgia’s football program. Fort, a standout at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, has garnered significant attention from top-tier programs nationwide.
In July 2024, Fort announced his top 13 schools, which included prominent programs such as Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Miami, UCLA, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Florida, Nebraska, and Washington.
Throughout his recruitment, Fort has developed strong relationships with several coaching staffs. Notably, he has maintained a close connection with Alabama, even after the retirement of Coach Nick Saban. Fort stated, “I feel like since coach Nick Saban retired, I haven’t lost a beat or skipped a beat with Alabama.”
Michigan has also been proactive in its pursuit of Fort. Following coaching changes, including the departure of head coach Jim Harbaugh, Michigan’s new secondary coach, LaMar Morgan, reaffirmed the program’s interest by re-extending an offer to Fort. Fort expressed enthusiasm about this renewed interest, noting, “I’m looking forward to building my relationship with Coach Morgan. He seemed like a cool person.”
In November 2024, Fort visited the University of Georgia and came away impressed. He felt a strong connection with the coaching staff and appreciated the program’s culture. This visit solidified Georgia’s position as a top contender in his recruitment.
Given the competitive nature of college football recruiting, it’s essential to rely on official announcements from the athlete or the university for confirmation of commitments. As of now, Zech Fort has not publicly committed to any program, and his recruitment remains open.
