The Parramatta Eels have announced the signing of forward Jack Williams on a three-year deal, commencing from the 2025 NRL season. Williams, 28, joins the Eels after a six-year tenure with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, where he made 124 first-grade appearances since his debut in 2018.

Standing at 184 cm and weighing 98 kg, Williams is known for his versatility, capable of playing both on the edge and through the middle. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his work ethic, toughness, and leadership qualities. In the 2024 season, Williams maintained an average of 99 running meters per game and a tackle efficiency rate of 94%, underscoring his reliability on the field.

Parramatta’s General Manager of Football, Mark O’Neill, emphasized the significance of Williams’ signing in aligning with the team’s future direction under new Head Coach Jason Ryles. O’Neill stated, “Jack is a player who has been on our radar for a while. His experience and leadership qualities will be great for our culture and align with how we want to play going forward.”

Williams’ addition comes as the Eels look to strengthen their forward pack following the departures of Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Ofahiki Ogden, and Makahesi Makatoa. His signing is part of a broader recruitment strategy that includes the acquisition of Penrith fullback Isaiah Iongi and South Sydney’s halfback Dean Hawkins, aiming to revitalize the squad after a challenging 2024 season that saw the Eels finish in 15th place.

Reflecting on his time with the Sharks, Williams expressed gratitude for the opportunities and experiences that have shaped his career. He now looks forward to contributing to the Eels’ ambitions in the coming seasons.

As the Eels prepare for the 2025 season, the integration of Williams into their roster is anticipated to enhance the team’s competitiveness and depth. Fans and analysts alike will be keen to observe how his presence influences Parramatta’s performance in the pursuit of their first premiership since 1986.
