Faith, Fun, and Fastballs: RobertAnthony Cruz Brings Purpose to Banana Ball
While the Savannah Bananas are known for their wild dance moves, on-field antics, and sold-out shows, one player is bringing something deeper to the game—his Christian faith. RobertAnthony Cruz, or “RAC” as fans in Bananaland know him, is not just entertaining crowds—he’s inspiring them.
Cruz’s journey started with a dream to play professional baseball, which he realized briefly with the Washington Nationals organization in 2021. “I was signed for a year before getting released,” he shares. But that setback opened another door. “I started making baseball videos online and growing a following,” Cruz explains. That digital presence eventually led him to the Savannah Bananas.
In December 2023, Cruz joined the Bananas for their national tour, and he’s now nearing the end of his second tour. Known for their unique spin on baseball, the Bananas play “Banana Ball”—a faster, more entertaining version of the sport with creative rules. From the senior-citizen “Banana Nanas” dance team to the “Dad Bod Cheer Squad,” every game is a show.
But for Cruz, it’s also a platform. “I use the game to share my faith in Christ,” he says. His message resonates with fans looking for more than just a good time.
And speaking of good times, fans are flocking to grab the **new Savannah Bananas trending t-shirt**—now available at **reduced prices for a limited time**. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or new to Bananaland, it’s the perfect way to show your spirit.
