This what the Los Angeles Lakers should get this off season, and not Kevin Durant, three players with Triple double machine in one team.

The Los Angeles Lakers are in a prime position to make a significant push for a championship next season, but instead of targeting high-profile names like Kevin Durant, they should focus on acquiring players who bring something unique to the team — versatility, playmaking, and the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. One such option is acquiring players who are capable of recording triple-doubles, players who can contribute across the board in scoring, rebounding, and facilitating. Imagine a lineup with three players capable of consistently filling the stat sheet in all areas — this could elevate the Lakers’ chances of winning a championship without needing to rely on the talents of a single superstar like Durant.

First, the Lakers need to prioritize players who can complement LeBron James. While LeBron is one of the greatest all-around players in NBA history, he is getting older and can’t always shoulder the offensive and playmaking load on his own. Bringing in players who can fill in as secondary ball handlers and distributors is essential. Someone like Luka Dončić could be a perfect fit. Dončić has shown an ability to be a triple-double machine, and his passing ability could work wonders alongside LeBron, creating a dynamic offense with two playmakers on the floor at all times.

Next, the Lakers could target a player like Jrue Holiday. While Holiday may not have the scoring prowess of Durant, he’s one of the best two-way players in the league and is capable of affecting every part of the game. His ability to distribute the ball, defend at a high level, and score when needed would help give the Lakers a balanced attack. Pairing him with LeBron and Dončić could give the Lakers three primary playmakers, all capable of dishing out assists, rebounding, and scoring.

Lastly, another player that would fit the mold of a triple-double machine is Nikola Jokić. Although acquiring him might be a more complicated trade, Jokić’s ability to impact the game from all areas—whether as a scorer, rebounder, or facilitator—would fit perfectly in a Lakers offense that emphasizes ball movement. His basketball IQ and playmaking skills could provide the Lakers with a versatile offense, while also taking pressure off LeBron in crucial moments.

In summary, instead of going after a player like Kevin Durant, who is primarily known for his scoring, the Lakers should look to build a roster with multiple triple-double threats. A roster featuring players like Luka Dončić, Jrue Holiday, and Nikola Jokić would make the Lakers a balanced, versatile, and unpredictable team on both ends of the floor, giving them a much better shot at an NBA title.
