Riders are primed for a high-stakes showdown at the 2025 Australian Trial Championship, set to take place on June 7–8 at the rugged ‘Erinvale’ property in Meringandan, Queensland. The event, promoted by Moto Trials Queensland with backing from The Hell Team, TRS, and Mecatecno, will feature over 150 competitors across senior and junior classes .
Defending champions Connor Hogan and Jenna Lupo will return to defend their titles in the premier men’s and women’s categories. Hogan, a seasoned international competitor, is expected to face stiff competition from riders like Chris Bayles and Haydon Barwick, the latter having gained experience in the 2023 Trial3 World Championship .
The championship also marks the 50th anniversary of sidecar competition, with legendary duos such as Todd Kuerschner and Steve Sparkes, and Trevor Diener and Philip Holmes, both seven-time champions, returning to vie for supremacy. They’ll be challenged by formidable teams including 2016 champions Steve Rees and Melissa Paunola, 2023 winners Glenn Ursino and Kevin Reynolds, and 15-time titleholders Justin Gough and Maurice Blanchard .
The ‘Erinvale’ venue, known for its massive granite boulders and deep gullies, promises to test riders’ precision and endurance. Having hosted the 2024 Queensland Trial Championship, it stands as a formidable arena for this national contest .
