REPORT: Alabama football WR Germie Bernard makes decision for 2025….

Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Germie Bernard has announced his decision to return for the 2025 college football season, opting to forgo entering the NFL Draft.

Bernard, who transferred to Alabama from Washington prior to the 2024 season following Coach Kalen DeBoer, led the Crimson Tide in 2024 with 50 receptions for 794 yards and two touchdowns over 13 games.

 

Reflecting on his decision, Bernard emphasized his commitment to completing his degree and his belief in the team’s potential for the upcoming season. He stated, “I know with the people coming back and the newcomers coming in, just being able to have this season to be a leader. I think we’ll make it really far this year.”

Bernard’s collegiate journey has been marked by multiple transitions. After beginning his career at Michigan State in 2022, where he recorded seven catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns, he transferred to Washington for the 2023 season. At Washington, he tallied 34 receptions for 419 yards and two touchdowns. His move to Alabama in 2024 reunited him with Coach DeBoer, under whom he has continued to develop as a key offensive contributor.

 

Bernard’s return is anticipated to bolster Alabama’s receiving corps, providing experience and leadership to a team aiming for national championship contention. His decision also underscores a growing trend among college athletes who choose to complete their education and further develop their skills before transitioning to professional leagues.
