Ole Miss women’s basketball head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin announced the return of former standout player Myah Taylor as the team’s Coordinator of Operations

In May 2024, Ole Miss women’s basketball head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin announced the return of former standout player Myah Taylor as the team’s Coordinator of Operations. A native of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Taylor’s journey with Ole Miss has been both impactful and inspiring.

Taylor joined the Rebels as a graduate transfer for the 2022-2023 season after a distinguished career at Mississippi State. In her sole season at Ole Miss, she led the team in assists with a total of 113, averaging 3.6 per game, and was a defensive asset, contributing 1.7 steals per game. Notably, in the Second Round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament against No. 1 Stanford, Taylor’s decisive steal in the final moments secured the Rebels’ historic upset victory.

Following her time at Ole Miss, Taylor pursued professional basketball opportunities, playing overseas in Hungary’s top league with Vasas Akademia and briefly in Mexico. Her professional experience adds a valuable perspective to her role within the team.

In her new position, Taylor is eager to contribute to the program’s success off the court. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to return to Mississippi and work alongside Coach McPhee-McCuin, stating, “I am extremely excited to start this new journey in my career and there’s no place I’d rather be than at Ole Miss.”

Coach McPhee-McCuin welcomed Taylor back, highlighting her leadership qualities and deep understanding of the Ole Miss culture. She noted, “Myah is a leader, winner, a hard worker and has always had aspirations to explore the operations side of athletics.”

Taylor’s return signifies a full-circle moment for both her and the program. Her transition from a key player on the court to an integral staff member off the court exemplifies her dedication to Ole Miss and her commitment to fostering the growth of future student-athletes.
