Netflix has officially announced the upcoming release of a highly anticipated multi-part documentary series chronicling the rise, legacy, and enduring influence of the legendary Allman Brothers Band. Slated for release in early 2026, the series promises an in-depth, emotionally rich exploration of one of the most influential and trailblazing acts in American music history.

The untitled docuseries will trace the band’s beginnings in the late 1960s, formed by brothers Duane and Gregg Allman in Macon, Georgia, and their meteoric rise through the Southern rock scene. Viewers can expect rare archival footage, never-before-seen photos, behind-the-scenes recordings, and exclusive interviews with surviving band members, family, close collaborators, and artists influenced by their iconic sound.

From soul-stirring live performances to their turbulent personal lives and the tragic losses that shaped their journey, the series will pull back the curtain on both the triumphs and tragedies of the band’s five-decade-long legacy. Particular focus will be given to the group’s groundbreaking 1971 live album *At Fillmore East*, widely considered one of the greatest live recordings in rock history, and the indelible impact of Duane Allman’s slide guitar style.

Executive producers say the project will honor the Allman Brothers Band not just as musicians, but as cultural figures who shaped an entire era. “This isn’t just a story about a band — it’s about resilience, reinvention, and redefining the sound of American rock and blues,” said one producer.

With Netflix’s global platform, the series is expected to reignite interest in the Allman Brothers Band among longtime fans and new generations alike. As one of the most respected names in classic rock history, the Allman Brothers Band is finally getting the deep-dive tribute their complex, soulful legacy

deserves.
