Nefflix announced plans to release a documentary focusing specifically on Kirby Smart and Georgia Bulldogs team….

As of February 2025, Netflix has  announced any plans to release a documentary focusing specifically on Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs football team. In December 2024, Netflix did reveal an upcoming eight-episode docuseries highlighting the Southeastern Conference’s (SEC) 2024 football season, produced by the same company behind “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” citeturn0search6. However, several prominent SEC programs, including Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, and Texas, chose not to participate in this project

The decision by Georgia and other top-tier programs to opt out means the docuseries will primarily feature the remaining SEC schools that agreed to participate. This choice aligns with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart’s approach to maintaining a controlled and private environment within the football program. Smart has previously expressed a preference for focusing on internal matters rather than engaging in external media projects. For instance, during the 2020 pandemic, he commented on the popular Netflix series “Tiger King,” stating that he couldn’t continue watching it after two episodes and preferred shows with more substantial plots, like “Ozark”

While the Netflix docuseries will not provide an in-depth look at Georgia’s 2024 season, fans seeking insights into the Bulldogs’ football program can turn to other sources. “Kirby Smart All Access,” a program aired by FOX 5 Atlanta, offers interviews with Coach Smart and players, providing a closer look at the team’s dynamics and operations

In summary, despite Netflix’s upcoming SEC football docuseries, there are currently no plans for a documentary focusing exclusively on Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs. The team’s decision to maintain privacy and control over its internal environment reflects its commitment to focusing on performance and success on the field.
