In a significant move for the upcoming NRL season, former Sydney Roosters player Zac Lomax has signed a four-year contract with the Parramatta Eels, set to commence in 2025. Lomax, who spent seven seasons with the St George Illawarra Dragons, expressed that the transition was essential for his professional growth and to step out of his comfort zone.

During his tenure with the Dragons, Lomax showcased his versatility by excelling on the wing, notably scoring 14 tries in a standout season. However, he has a strong preference for playing as a centre, a position he has discussed with incoming Eels head coach Jason Ryles. Lomax is optimistic about the Eels’ potential under Ryles’ leadership, despite the team’s challenges in the previous season.

This acquisition is part of a broader strategy by the Parramatta Eels to strengthen their squad for the 2025 season. In addition to Lomax, the Eels have secured dynamic winger Josh Addo-Carr on a two-year deal starting in 2025, with an option for 2026. Addo-Carr, a two-time NRL Premiership winner, brings significant speed and experience to the team.

The Eels have also signed Kelma Tuilagi on a two-year contract beginning in 2024. Tuilagi, who has represented Samoa and played for the Manly Sea Eagles, is expected to add depth and strength to the Eels’ forward pack.

These strategic signings reflect the Eels’ commitment to enhancing their roster and competitiveness in the NRL. The addition of players like Lomax, Addo-Carr, and Tuilagi is anticipated to bring a blend of experience, versatility, and dynamism to the team as they prepare for the challenges of the upcoming seasons.
