JUST IN: Georgia football looking for revenge after Carson Beck’s departure… See more

Georgia Bulldogs are gearing up for the 2025 season with a renewed sense of determination following the departure of quarterback Carson Beck. Beck, who initially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, altered his course by entering the transfer portal and committing to the Miami Hurricanes.

Beck’s decision was influenced by a UCL injury sustained during the SEC Championship game against Texas, which required surgery and sidelined him for the College Football Playoff. Prior to his injury, Beck amassed 3,485 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in the 2024 season.

In Beck’s absence, sophomore quarterback Gunner Stockton stepped in, leading Georgia to a 22-19 victory over Texas in the SEC Championship. Stockton’s performance has positioned him as the frontrunner for the starting quarterback role in the upcoming season. Head coach Kirby Smart expressed confidence in Stockton’s abilities, emphasizing the importance of competition and preparation during practice sessions.

The Bulldogs’ offensive strategy is expected to adapt to Stockton’s mobility, potentially introducing more dynamic plays. Despite the challenges posed by Beck’s departure, the team remains focused on leveraging its depth and talent to maintain its competitive edge.

Georgia’s 2025 schedule includes key matchups that offer opportunities for the team to demonstrate resilience and pursue championship aspirations. The Bulldogs’ preparation and adaptability will be crucial as they navigate the season without their former starting quarterback.
