Jerry Jones locks in Mike McCarthy’s replacement as Cowboys HC in a shocking move

They are the subject of circulating rumors, and discussions over their coaching career have taken an unexpected turn. Former Titans coach Mike Vrabel has been a major figure in the rumor mill as current head coach Mike McCarthy nears the end of his contract.

In recent weeks, there has been a lot of talk about Vrabel, who coached the Tennessee Titans from 2018 to 2023. Known for his tough coaching style and stellar playing career with the Patriots, Vrabel has an NFL coaching record of 54-45. However, his time in Tennessee ended badly after a disappointing 6-11 season, and league insiders are now suggesting Dallas as a possible destination if the Cowboys decide to fire McCarthy.

Analysts have noted the Cowboys’ present direction even though no official actions have been taken. After losing to the Bengals on “Monday Night Football,” the squad is currently at 5-8 and finding it difficult to live up to expectations. Although McCarthy has received public support, including a noteworthy defense from Cowboys great Troy Aikman, who praised McCarthy’s leadership and the support of the locker room, questions remain regarding his future.

According to ESPN reports, up to seven or eight head coaching positions could open across the league next season, with Vrabel’s name firmly in the mix. If the Cowboys decide to make a change, Vrabel’s experience and reputation as a proven leader could fit with their preference for seasoned candidates. This adds to the intrigue of the situation.

However, there are other teams said to be interested in Vrabel besides Dallas. Given that former teammate Tom Brady owns a minority share in the Raiders, the franchise has also

been mentioned as a potential destination. Although it’s unclear how much power Vrabel would need in such a position, Brady’s possible influence would tilt the scales in favor of bringing him on board.
