**Black Sabbath Address Possibility of Final Album Ahead of “Back to the Beginning” Farewell Show**
In a revealing new interview with *Classic Rock* ahead of their much-anticipated **“Back to the Beginning”** farewell concert at Villa Park on July 5, 2025, the members of **Black Sabbath** opened up about their final performance — and whether fans might ever hear one more studio album from the legendary band.
The emotional event, which will mark the **last time the original lineup — Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward — performs together**, has reignited questions about the potential for a follow-up to 2013’s *13*, their last studio album.
Speaking candidly, **Tony Iommi** didn’t rule it out completely. “You never say never, do you?” he said. “We’ve got riffs. I’ve always got riffs. The thing is, it’s not about making noise anymore — it’s about making something meaningful. If the stars aligned and we all felt inspired, who knows?”
**Geezer Butler**, however, sounded more hesitant. “*13* felt like closure in a lot of ways. I think we all gave everything we had at that point. I’m not sure we need to say anything more. But… never say never.”
**Ozzy**, who will also perform select solo classics during the show, was characteristically blunt yet sentimental: “If this is it, I’m okay with that. We’ve done it all. We’ve survived it all. But I’ll never say no to going into a studio with these guys again — even if it’s just for one song.”
While fans shouldn’t expect a new album anytime soon, the possibility hasn’t been completely buried. As Sabbath prepares to bow out where it all began, the door to their dark, powerful sound might remain cracked open — just enough for one
final riff.
