Heavy metal icon and Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford has revealed that he and his longtime partner, Thomas, quietly tied the knot last year in an intimate ceremony at their home in Arizona. The singer, often hailed as the “Metal God,” shared the news during a candid conversation on the *Queer the Music* podcast with Scissor Sisters’ frontman, Jake Shears.

Halford explained that after more than 30 years together, the couple exchanged vows in a small, personal ceremony, standing beside a cactus in their yard. “We got married by the cactus outside on December the something or other, about a year or so ago,” he recalled with a laugh. While the moment was simple and private, it held immense meaning for the couple, who have shared decades of love, challenges, and devotion.

Interestingly, Halford revealed that convincing Thomas to marry was no easy feat. Coming from Alabama with deeply conservative roots, Thomas had long resisted the idea despite Halford’s repeated suggestions over the years. Eventually, Halford admitted, he gave up pushing for it. But then, in a surprising twist, Thomas brought it up himself one evening during one of their regular night walks. “He goes, ‘I think we should get married,’” Halford said. “I went straight home, got on the phone, and arranged for a pastor.”

The ceremony was kept deliberately small, attended only by a few close friends, making it a deeply personal and emotional moment rather than a grand affair. “It was over in an instant. But it was just a beautiful, simple ceremony,” Halford reflected.

For fans, the news offers a rare glimpse into the personal life of one of metal’s most legendary figures. Beyond the roaring stages and leather-clad persona, Halford’s story is one of love, patience, and finding joy in life’s most intimate celebrations.
