Guns N’ Roses ignited their 2025 world tour with a thunderous performance at Songdo Moonlight Festival Park in Incheon, South Korea, on May 1. This marked their first live show in over a year and introduced new drummer Isaac Carpenter, who stepped in following Frank Ferrer’s amicable departure after a 19-year tenure .
In a surprising twist, the band opened with “Welcome to the Jungle,” a classic that hadn’t served as their opener since 2012. The 22-song setlist spanned their extensive catalog, featuring hits like “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “November Rain,” and “Paradise City,” as well as covers of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” and Velvet Revolver’s “Slither”
Carpenter, known for his work with Awolnation and Duff McKagan’s Loaded, brought a fresh energy to the band’s rhythm section. His dynamic drumming was evident throughout the performance, signaling a new chapter for the legendary rock group .
The tour, aptly named “Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things,” will see Guns N’ Roses performing across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, with notable stops in cities like Riyadh, Barcelona, and London. Special guests including Public Enemy, Rival Sons, and the Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter will join on select dates .
With this electrifying kickoff, Guns N’ Roses reaffirm their status as rock icons, blending nostalgia with renewed vigor.
