Dylan Edwards Signs New Deal with Panthers
Penrith Panthers fullback **Dylan Edwards** has officially signed a new contract, extending his stay with the club in a massive boost for the reigning NRL premiers. The deal, reportedly worth around **$3.4 million over four years**, will keep Edwards at the Panthers until the end of **2028**.
The 28-year-old has been one of the most consistent performers in the NRL, playing a key role in Penrith’s dominance over the past few seasons. Since making his debut in 2016, Edwards has developed into one of the league’s most reliable fullbacks, winning **three consecutive premierships** (2021, 2022, 2023) and claiming the **Clive Churchill Medal in 2022**.
Panthers CEO **Matt Cameron** described Edwards as an essential part of the club’s future.
> “Dylan epitomises what it means to be a Panther. His work ethic, leadership, and commitment to the team are second to none. We’re thrilled to have him continue with us.”
Edwards’ re-signing comes amid speculation about the Panthers’ ability to retain their star-studded squad under the salary cap. With big names like Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo, and James Fisher-Harris already on long-term deals, keeping Edwards was a major priority for the club.
Edwards expressed his excitement about continuing his journey with Penrith.
> “This club means everything to me. I love playing alongside my teammates, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep building something special.”
With Edwards locked in, the Panthers remain in a strong position to extend their NRL dynasty, as they chase an unprecedented fourth straight premiership in 2024.
