Daytona 200: Canadian Trevor Daley Returning With Bridgestone America…

Canadian Superbike rider Trevor Daley is set to make his debut at the 82nd Daytona 200, scheduled for March 7-9, 2024, at Daytona International Speedway. Partnering with Bridgestone Americas, Daley joins forces with fellow Canadian and three-time Canadian Superbike Champion Ben Young to form Team BATTLAX. The duo will compete on identical Suzuki Canada GSX-R750 motorcycles, equipped with Bridgestone BATTLAX race tires.

Daley, a seasoned competitor in the Canadian Superbike Championship and a rider for Suzuki Canada, brings a wealth of experience to the team. While this marks his first appearance at the Daytona 200, Daley is no stranger to endurance racing, having participated in the Daytona 24-hour prototype racing team. This background has equipped him with the necessary preparation and resilience required for the demanding nature of the Daytona 200.

In the lead-up to the event, Team BATTLAX has been collaborating closely with race and fabrication shop OneSpeedInc, which is responsible for building the custom Suzuki GSX-R750s. Technical oversight is provided by Ben Young’s longtime crew chief, Willie Vass, ensuring that both machines are primed for peak performance.

Reflecting on the upcoming race, Daley expressed confidence in the team’s preparation: “Leading up to the event, our team will be well-familiarized with the Supersport-spec Suzuki GSX-R750 and will be able to use valuable information and experience to put us at the sharp end of the grid.” He further emphasized the advantage of riding their own prepared bikes featuring Bridgestone BATTLAX race tires, stating, “I feel extremely confident heading into this year’s 200 with Team BATTLAX.”

Bridgestone’s involvement in the 2024 Daytona 200 represents its largest racing presence to date, supplying BATTLAX race tires to 15 riders from seven different countries. This commitment underscores Bridgestone’s dedication to supporting motorcycle racing at the highest levels and showcasing the performance capabilities of its tire technology.

As the Daytona 200 approaches, anticipation builds to see how Trevor Daley and Team BATTLAX will perform on the iconic high banks of Daytona International Speedway. Their participation not only highlights the international appeal of the event but also exemplifies the collaborative efforts between riders, manufacturers, and sponsors in the world of motorcycle racing.
