The New Orleans Saints have officially unveiled their complete coaching staff for the 2025 NFL season, marking a significant shift under new head coach Kellen Moore. Moore, previously the offensive coordinator for the Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles, has assembled a dynamic and youthful staff aimed at revitalizing the team’s performance.
Key additions include Doug Nussmeier as offensive coordinator, bringing 24 years of coaching experience, including a recent stint as the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach. Under his guidance, quarterback Jalen Hurts achieved a career-high 103.7 passer rating and earned Super Bowl MVP honors. Brandon Staley, former head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers and assistant head coach/defense for the San Francisco 49ers, joins as defensive coordinator. His leadership contributed to the 49ers’ defense ranking eighth in the NFL in opponent net yards per game in 2024.
The Saints have also promoted Phil Galiano to special teams coordinator, recognizing his contributions since 2019. Joel Thomas returns as associate head coach and running backs coach after a year with the New York Giants, bringing a history of developing Pro Bowl talent like Alvin Kamara. Terry Joseph, a New Orleans native, steps in as defensive pass game coordinator following his tenure at the University of Texas.
The staff’s youthful energy is evident, with several coaches under 40, including quarterbacks coach Scott Tolzien (37), run game coordinator T.J. Paganetti (35), and tight ends coach Chase Haslett (32). Moore himself is 36, making this one of the youngest coaching staffs in the league. This infusion of youth and experience aims to bring innovative strategies and a fresh perspective to the Saints as they prepare for the upcoming season.
