Lee Starkey, daughter of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and his late first wife Maureen, has shown remarkable resilience in her battle against brain cancer. In 1995, at age 24, she was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor called ependymoma. After collapsing in England, she underwent a successful four-hour surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, followed by radiation therapy. Doctors were optimistic about her recovery, and she was discharged after six weeks of treatment .
Tragically, in 2001, six years later, Lee faced a recurrence of the same tumor. She returned to Boston for further treatment, undergoing additional surgery and radiation. Despite the challenges, Lee’s prognosis remained positive, and she eventually recovered .Today, Lee is living a fulfilling life. She is in a relationship with musician Jay Mehler, and they have three children together. Lee has chosen to maintain a private life, stepping away from the public eye associated with her father’s fame. Her journey stands as a testament to her strength and determination in the face of adversity.
