Back when I worked at a pet store in Malibu, I had the surreal experience of regularly seeing Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne come in. As a lifelong fan of Black Sabbath, it was hard to play it cool—but they were both incredibly kind and down-to-earth, which made it easier.

One day, I worked up the courage to ask Ozzy for his autograph. I had a Black Sabbath tattoo on my leg already, styled in the same font as the first album. I told him I planned to get his signature tattooed next to it. He laughed, signed my leg, and gave me his blessing to ink it permanently. A couple of months later, they came back into the store, and Ozzy actually remembered and asked to see the tattoo. It blew my mind that he remembered. He looked at it, smiled, and told me it looked great.

On another occasion, Sharon gave me tickets to Ozzfest—something I’ll never forget. At the show, I had the incredible chance to meet Tony Iommi. I told him about the tattoo and asked if he’d do the same. He signed my leg, and of course, I got that tattooed too.

Meeting two of my heroes and having their autographs permanently inked alongside my Sabbath tattoo is something I’ll always cherish. Ozzy and Sharon were not only legends in music but also genuinely kind people. I feel incredibly fortunate to have met them multiple times, and those memories will stay with me forever.
