Auburn University has secured a significant addition to its men’s basketball roster for the 2025–26 season with the commitment of Serbian forward Filip Jovic. Standing at 6-foot-9 and 20 years old, Jovic brings a blend of size, skill, and international experience that aligns with head coach Bruce Pearl’s emphasis on physicality and versatility.

Jovic’s most recent tenure was with KK Mega SuperBet in the Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA), where he averaged 12.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. Notably, he shot an impressive 65% from two-point range, showcasing his efficiency around the basket . His agent, Misko Ražnatović, confirmed the commitment, highlighting Jovic’s readiness for the competitive environment of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

Jovic’s playing style is characterized by a strong, physical presence in the paint, making him a formidable force in the post. This contrasts with the style of his former teammate at KK Mega SuperBet, Andrija Jelavić, who has committed to the University of Kentucky. While Jelavić is known for his stretch-four capabilities and perimeter scoring, Jovic’s interior dominance adds a different dynamic to the SEC’s landscape .

Auburn’s acquisition of Jovic complements its already impressive 2025 recruiting class, which includes four-star forward Sebastian Williams-Adams. Together, they bolster the Tigers’ frontcourt depth and provide Coach Pearl with versatile options to navigate the challenges of the upcoming season.

With the addition of Jovic, Auburn continues to strengthen its position in the SEC, aiming to build upon its recent success and make a significant impact in the 2025–26 season.
