Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of Ghanaian forward Kwame Poku on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Kwame Poku, the Ghanaian winger formerly with Peterborough United, has recently signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League. This move marks his return to the club after a notable stint during the 2020/21 season, where he scored six goals and provided three assists in just 16 appearances. Following that, Poku had spells with USM Alger and Olympique Khouribga in Morocco

Prior to his departure from Peterborough, Poku had been a standout performer in League One, tallying 10 goals and eight assists in 20 games before a hamstring injury sidelined him in December 2024. His impressive form had attracted interest from several clubs, including Rangers, Ipswich Town, and Southampton

Asante Kotoko’s acquisition of Poku is seen as a significant boost to their attacking options, as they aim to strengthen their squad for domestic and continental competitions. Poku’s experience and previous success in the Ghana Premier League are expected to contribute positively to the team’s ambitions in the upcoming season.
