Aaron Plessinger has officially announced that he will miss the remaining rounds of the 2025 Pro Motocross season due to ongoing health issues. The Red Bull KTM rider has been struggling with low cortisol levels, which have not improved as quickly as he had hoped. After consulting with his doctors, Plessinger made the difficult decision to step away from racing for the rest of the summer in order to focus on his long-term health and recovery.

“Unfortunately, getting to the bottom of my health issues is taking longer than I had hoped,” Plessinger shared in a statement. “My cortisol levels are still really low and not back to where I was hoping they would be by now, so under my doctor’s advice I’m going to sit out the remainder of the MX series.”

Plessinger was enjoying one of the strongest seasons of his career, regularly battling up front and even leading motos. However, the inconsistency between high-level performances and sudden DNFs began to take a toll. “It’s frustrating given I was riding the best I have ridden in my career this season, but going from leading motos to DNFs is not healthy for me and I don’t think it’s what the fans or my team deserve either,” he said.

At 29 years old, Plessinger acknowledges that his body is changing and that now is the right time to take his health seriously. Despite the setback, he remains optimistic and grateful for the support he’s received from fans and fellow riders alike. “I’m not the first guy to go through it… I will figure this out – it’s just something that is taking a bit longer than I had hoped.”

He closed by promising to return stronger: “I’m already missing seeing the fans and my team every weekend, so you better believe I will be back real soon.”
