A Quesnel motocross rider was rushed to hospital following a serious accident during a weekend event that left spectators and fellow riders in shock. The incident occurred Sunday afternoon at the Quesnel Motocross Track, where dozens of competitors had gathered for a local racing meet.

According to witnesses, the rider — whose name has not yet been released — lost control of his bike while attempting a large jump on the final lap of the race. His bike reportedly landed awkwardly, sending him tumbling across the track before emergency crews rushed to his aid. Race officials immediately halted the event as paramedics and volunteers attended to the injured competitor.

“He came down hard, and we knew right away it was serious,” said one spectator who was watching from the stands. “The medics were there within seconds, and everyone just went quiet. It was really scary.”

The rider was stabilized at the scene and transported by ambulance to G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel before being airlifted to a trauma center in Prince George for further treatment. While the extent of his injuries has not been confirmed, officials described his condition as serious but stable.

The Quesnel Motocross Association released a brief statement thanking emergency responders and asking for privacy for the rider and his family. “Our thoughts are with our rider and his loved ones. Safety remains our top priority, and we are reviewing the incident closely,” the statement read.

The event was later postponed as organizers and racers gathered to support their injured teammate. Local fans have since flooded social media with messages of encouragement, hoping for a full and speedy recovery for the Quesnel rider who is well-known in the community’s motocross scene.
