NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. is set to return to the broadcast booth in 2025, having signed a significant new deal with both TNT Sports and Amazon Prime Video. This move follows his departure from NBC Sports, where he served as a color commentator from 2018 through 2023.
Under the new agreement, Earnhardt Jr. will provide on-air commentary for five NASCAR Cup Series races on TNT Sports during the summer months. Additionally, he will contribute to Amazon Prime Video’s coverage, which includes streaming five races and exclusive practice and qualifying sessions for much of the first half of the season.
Beyond race commentary, Earnhardt Jr. will collaborate with Bleacher Report and his own media company, Dirty Mo Media, to produce a content series featuring interviews with special guests during ride-alongs at TNT’s five Cup Series tracks.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Earnhardt Jr. stated, “It is such an exciting time to welcome TNT Sports back to NASCAR… I’m looking forward to joining their team and also getting the chance to work with Bleacher Report creating content that our fans will enjoy.”
This development is part of NASCAR’s new seven-year media rights deal, valued at $7.7 billion, which expands its broadcast partners to include NBC, Fox, Amazon, and Warner Bros. Discovery, starting in 2025. (
Earnhardt Jr.’s return to broadcasting, coupled with his involvement in innovative content creation, marks a significant enhancement to NASCAR’s media presence as the sport enters a new era of coverage.
