Married At First Sight: Awhina Rutene Explains Why She Divorced Adrian Araouzou
Awhina Rutene has finally opened up about the reasons behind her split from Adrian Araouzou after their journey on *Married At First Sight*. While the couple seemed to have potential at the start, Awhina recently revealed that their relationship struggled behind the scenes.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, Awhina explained that their differences became more apparent once the cameras stopped rolling. “Adrian is a great person, but we were just not compatible in the real world,” she shared. “During the experiment, we tried to make it work, but once we left, we realized we had very different values and ways of communicating.”
One of the main issues, according to Awhina, was a lack of emotional connection. While Adrian was more reserved, she needed deeper emotional support. “I felt like I was putting in all the effort to make things work, and at some point, I had to admit to myself that I wasn’t happy,” she admitted.
Another factor was their conflicting lifestyles. Awhina hinted that their goals for the future didn’t align, making it difficult to build a lasting marriage. “At the end of the day, love isn’t enough if you’re not on the same page about the big things,” she said.
Despite their divorce, Awhina says she has no regrets about the experience. “I learned a lot about myself, and I know what I need in a relationship now,” she added. Adrian has yet to respond publicly, but sources say the two remain on good terms.
