The Golden State Warriors achieved a historic milestone on February 25, 2025, by securing their 3,000th franchise victory with a commanding 128-92 win over the Charlotte Hornets at the Chase Center in San Francisco. This victory also marked the Warriors’ fourth consecutive win and their sixth in seven games since acquiring Jimmy Butler.

The game was notable not only for the Warriors’ dominant performance but also for the celebration of the 10th anniversary of their 2014-15 championship team. At halftime, former champions Marreese Speights, Brandon Rush, and Festus Ezeli were honored, and the 2014-15 Larry O’Brien trophy was showcased, adding a nostalgic touch to the evening.

Buddy Hield led the team with 16 points off the bench, while Stephen Curry and Draymond Green each contributed 15 points. Gary Payton II added 14 points, and Moses Moody chipped in with 13 points, showcasing the team’s depth and balanced scoring. Jimmy Butler, in his seventh game with the Warriors, recorded six points, eight rebounds, five assists, and a steal in just 19 minutes of play.

The Warriors’ defense was particularly effective, forcing 25 turnovers and converting them into 37 points. This defensive pressure stifled the Hornets’ offense, limiting them to a 32.6% shooting percentage from the field. KJ Simpson led the Hornets with 16 points, while Seth Curry, Stephen’s brother, added 14 points for Charlotte.

This loss added to the Hornets’ recent struggles, marking their third consecutive defeat by significant margins. Over these three games, they have been outscored by a combined 131 points, setting an unfortunate NBA record for the worst three-game point differential.

With this victory, the Warriors improved their season record to 31-27 and are gaining momentum as they prepare for a five-game road trip, starting with a matchup against the Orlando Magic on Thursday. The team’s recent performances indicate a strong push towards securing a favorable position in the Western Conference standings.
