When I first met Alexis, I’ll admit—she wasn’t what I had imagined. At the time, my entire world revolved around baseball. I was focused on training, stats, and staying sharp for every game. My mind was completely wrapped up in footy, and I wasn’t looking for anything or anyone else. Relationships seemed like distractions, and I didn’t think there was room for them in the life I was chasing.
Then came Alexis. She was different from anyone I’d ever met. She had this spark about her—confident, full of energy, and completely unafraid to speak her mind. The first time we talked, I didn’t know how to take it. She challenged me, questioned me, and made me see things beyond the diamond. It was both frustrating and fascinating.
Over time, that spark turned into something more. Alexis showed me balance—how to care about something outside of baseball without losing who I was on the field. She made me laugh when I was too serious, reminded me that there’s life beyond wins and losses, and supported me even when things got rough.
Now, looking back, I can’t imagine my world without her in it. Baseball is still my passion—it always will be—but Alexis brought color and depth to everything I do. She’s the reason I play with more heart, the reason I push through the hard days. She reminds me that success isn’t just about the numbers on a scoreboard. It’s about the people who believe in you, who see you for more than just a player.
She may not have been what I was looking for—but she’s exactly what I needed.
