Ukraine would be able to completely defend its skies if it received around a dozen more Patriot air defence systems from Western allies, Volodymyr Zelensky has said, urging them not to let the systems “gather dust”.
The Ukrainian president expressed his annoyance by saying, “I sometimes do not grasp it… Everyone is aware that ten or twelve more Patriot systems for Ukraine will save our lives and render the conflict pointless for Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia.
Air defenses should save lives, not collect dust at storage bases, as we have repeatedly stated,” he remarked. He made the appeal after a Russian missile in the southeast city of Zaporizhzhia killed at least four people and injured twenty more, including a toddler.
In Russia, an overnight missile attack has damaged an industrial facility and set ablaze at least 14 of cars in Taganrog in Rostov.
