Rush has officially announced their long-awaited 2026 reunion, marking the band’s first return to the stage in over a decade with the “Fifty Something Tour.” The legendary rock duo Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will be joined by acclaimed German drummer Anika Nilles, stepping into what Geddy calls a “near impossible role” once filled by the late, great Neil Peart.
The tour comes 11 years after the R40 Live Tour, and carries the full blessing of Carrie Nuttall-Peart and Olivia Peart, Neil’s wife and daughter. Speaking on the emotional return, Geddy Lee shared, “In 2026, my BFF Lerxst (aka Alex Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of Rush songs in a handful of cities. No small task, because as we all know, Neil was irreplaceable.”
Lee went on to praise Nilles, saying, “Life is full of surprises, and we have been introduced to another remarkable person — an incredible drummer and musician who is adding another chapter to our story while continuing her own fascinating musical journey. We could not be more excited to introduce her to our loyal and dedicated Rush fanbase.”
The Fifty Something Tour will celebrate Rush’s timeless legacy, combining nostalgia, musicianship, and emotional tribute in what promises to be one of the most anticipated rock events of 2026.
