After the 49ers’ season-opening win, HC Kyle Shanahan addressed Brock Purdy’s health status, revealing that Purdy has injuries to both his toe and his left shoulder.  The toe seems to be the bigger concern.

Shanahan described Purdy as a “long shot” to play in the upcoming game against the New Orleans Saints. ([49ers.com][2]) The toe injury has been characterized as a “variant of turf toe,” which typically involves ligament damage. Purdy is being evaluated daily, with the coaching staff monitoring how the injuries respond over the week

In terms of timeline, reports now project Purdy could be sidelined for **2 to 5 weeks**.

During this period, backup quarterback Mac Jones is expected to take over for any games Purdy misses.

Shanahan emphasized that Purdy’s status is “week to week” and that the medical staff will see how the toe heals through practice before making further determinations.
