The Georgia Bulldogs have successfully recruited quarterback Ryan Montgomery from Findlay, Ohio, for their 2025 class. Despite being in Ohio State’s backyard, Montgomery chose Georgia over other contenders like Florida and South Carolina.

Montgomery’s recruitment began under former Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken and continued with coaches Mike Bobo, Montgomery VanGorder, and Brandon Streeter. His commitment provides clarity for Georgia’s future quarterback lineup, especially with current starter Carson Beck expected to depart after the 2024 season. Montgomery is anticipated to compete for the starting role upon his arrival.

This isn’t the first time Georgia has secured a quarterback initially linked to Ohio State. In December 2018, four-star quarterback Dwan Mathis flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Georgia during a ceremony at his high school in Belleville, Michigan.

These instances highlight Georgia’s ability to attract top quarterback talent, even from regions traditionally dominated by other powerhouse programs. The Bulldogs’ recruiting success underscores their national reach and the appeal of their football program to elite prospects across the country.
