Jeffrey Herlings returned to winning ways with a dominant performance at the MXGP of Germany, capturing the overall victory for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. Herlings, a five-time world champion, showcased his trademark speed and determination as he secured a 1-1 result across both motos, marking his first overall win of the 2025 season. Teammate Lucas Coenen added to KTM’s celebrations by finishing second overall with consistent 2-2 moto scores, making it a perfect 1-2 finish for the Austrian factory squad. Romain Febvre completed the podium with 4-3 results, keeping himself firmly in the championship hunt despite a challenging opening race.

In MX2, Andrea Adamo delivered another impressive performance, taking the overall win with a 1-3 result. The defending world champion extended his lead at the top of the standings with a well-calculated ride that balanced speed with consistency. The standout surprise of the weekend came from Guillem Farres, who bounced back from a tough first moto (9th) to storm to victory in Moto 2, securing second overall. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Kay de Wolf continued to show strong form, finishing third overall with a 7-2 scorecard. Despite missing out on the top step, de Wolf remains a key contender in the title fight.

The challenging Teutschenthal circuit, known for its hard pack and technical layout, tested the riders to their limits, but Herlings’ experience and grit prevailed. With this result, he signals his return as a serious title contender. Meanwhile, in MX2, Adamo’s consistency is setting him apart as the man to beat. As the series heads into the summer stretch, both classes promise an exciting championship battle with several riders still in contention for the crown. The MXGP of Germany may well prove a turning point in the 2025 campaign.
