Prized 5-Star Receiver Derek Meadows Commits to LSU
LSU has landed a massive addition to its 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of five-star wide receiver Derek Meadows. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound playmaker from Bishop Gorman High School (Las Vegas, NV) announced his decision on Saturday, choosing the Tigers over Alabama, Ohio State, and USC.
Meadows, ranked among the top wide receivers in the nation, has been a priority target for head coach Brian Kelly and LSU’s staff. His combination of size, speed, and route-running ability makes him a prototypical outside receiver, capable of stretching the field and winning jump balls in the red zone. He is expected to be a key weapon in LSU’s high-powered offense, which has produced standout receivers like Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, and Malik Nabers in recent years.
“I felt at home in Baton Rouge,” Meadows said in his commitment announcement. “The coaching staff believes in me, and I know LSU is the best place to develop into an elite receiver.”
His decision gives LSU yet another elite offensive weapon and further strengthens its reputation as “Wide Receiver U.” Meadows’ size and skill set fit perfectly into LSU’s offensive scheme, and he has the potential to make an early impact.
With his commitment, LSU’s 2025 recruiting class continues to rise in the national rankings. His addition provides a major boost for the Tigers as they look to compete for SEC and national championships in the coming years.
Meadows is expected to sign his national letter of intent in December, officially securing his place in Baton Rouge.
