Yolett McPhee-McCuin, widely known as Coach Yo, is in her seventh season as the head coach of the Ole Miss women’s basketball program. Since taking over in 2018, she has transformed the Rebels into a competitive force in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and a consistent NCAA Tournament contender.
Under McPhee-McCuin’s leadership, Ole Miss has steadily improved, highlighted by back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in recent seasons. Her tenure includes a historic Sweet 16 run in 2023, marking the program’s deepest tournament run in nearly three decades. Known for her defensive intensity and player development, she has helped shape Ole Miss into a formidable opponent.
Born in the Bahamas, McPhee-McCuin has made history as the first Bahamian woman to lead a Power Five basketball program. She previously coached at Jacksonville University, where she led the Dolphins to an NCAA Tournament berth. Her recruiting success and ability to connect with players have solidified her reputation as a rising star in women’s college basketball.
