EXCLUSIVE: MAFS’ Awhina Reveals Why She Refused to Introduce Her Son to Adrian During Home Stays
*Married at First Sight NZ* star Awhina has opened up about her difficult decision not to introduce her son to Adrian during Home Stays, revealing that she felt it was too soon and that she needed to prioritize her child’s well-being.
Speaking exclusively to us, Awhina explained that while she had developed feelings for Adrian throughout the experiment, she wasn’t ready to bring him into her son’s life just yet. “As a mother, my son’s emotional security is my top priority,” she said. “Bringing someone new into his world is a huge decision, and I didn’t feel that we were at a stage where that was appropriate.”
Awhina also admitted that she still had doubts about her and Adrian’s long-term compatibility, which played a major role in her choice. “There were still a lot of unanswered questions about our relationship. I needed to be completely sure before involving my son,” she shared.
Adrian, who was visibly disappointed during the episode, respected Awhina’s choice but confessed that it made him question their future together. “I understood where she was coming from, but it did make me wonder if she saw a real future with me,” he admitted.
Despite the emotional moment, Awhina insists that she made the right call. “At the end of the day, my son comes first. If things with Adrian were meant to be, they would progress naturally in time.”
With Decision Day approaching, fans are eager to see if Awhina and Adrian can overcome this hurdle or if it will be the breaking point in their journey.
