LSU head basketball coach Matt McMahon understands the challenges of rebuilding a once-proud program. Now, entering his third season, he remains optimistic about the future despite the ups and downs of the rebuilding process.
In a recent interview, McMahon acknowledged the difficulties of constructing a competitive roster in today’s college basketball landscape, especially with the transfer portal and NIL dynamics reshaping the sport. “Rebuilding in this era is different than it used to be,” McMahon said. “It’s about balancing development with bringing in experienced players who can help right away.”
