LSU Men’s Basketball Announces Non-Conference Schedule for 2024-25 Season

BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU men’s basketball team has officially unveiled its non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season, featuring a mix of home games, neutral-site matchups, and road tests against high-profile opponents.

The Tigers will open their season at home in early November, hosting a series of mid-major opponents before facing their first major challenge in a neutral-site matchup against a Power 5 team. LSU is also slated to participate in a prestigious multi-team event (MTE), which will include matchups against some of the nation’s top programs.

A key highlight of the schedule includes a road game against a traditional powerhouse, providing the Tigers with an early-season test in a tough environment. Additionally, LSU will face in-state rival Louisiana Tech and host a Big 12/SEC Challenge game at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Head coach Matt McMahon emphasized the importance of these early-season games in preparing for SEC play. “Our non-conference schedule is designed to challenge our team and build the chemistry we need for conference competition,” McMahon said. “We’re excited about the opportunities ahead.”

The Tigers will close out non-conference play with a mix of home games and a marquee road contest before shifting focus to SEC competition in January.

With a strong mix of competition, including opportunities for resume-building wins, LSU aims to strengthen its case for an NCAA Tournament bid. Fans can expect an exciting start to the season as the Tigers look to build momentum heading into conference play.

Tickets for non-conference home games will be available for purchase soon through the LSU Athletics website.
