Madison raised an eyebrow as she read David’s message.
Yahtzee night? Seriously?”* she typed back.
Yeah, it’s a whole thing,”* David replied. *”My parents and their friends take it way too seriously. Last time, my mom almost flipped the table when she lost by five points.”*
Madison shook her head, smiling. David’s parents were always a little eccentric, but this was next-level.
Alright, so you got a hotel? Fancy. What’s the plan?”* she asked.
Nothing crazy,”* David said. *”I figured we could grab some food, maybe some drinks, then just chill. The hotel has a nice view of the city.”*
You sure you didn’t just get it because you lost at Yahtzee last time and got banned from game night?”* she teased.
Okay, first of all, that was ONE TIME,”* David shot back. *”And second, I stand by my reaction. Who rolls five sixes in a row? That’s not luck, that’s sorcery.”*
Madison laughed, shaking her head. She liked that David always had some ridiculous story to tell.Fine, I’ll allow it,”* she texted. *”Where should we meet?”*
How about that little Italian place downtown? Then we can head to the hotel after.”*
Sounds good. But if we end up playing Yahtzee at some point, I’m not responsible for what happens.”*
Deal. But just so you know, I WILL win.”*
Madison rolled her eyes but couldn’t stop smiling. This* was why she loved hanging out with him.
