James Fisher-Harris Rejects Warriors Offer, Commits to Panthers Until 2030

Penrith Panthers star forward James Fisher-Harris has officially rejected a lucrative offer from the New Zealand Warriors and committed to remaining with the Panthers until at least the end of the 2030 NRL season.

Fisher-Harris, a key figure in Penrith’s recent dominance, was heavily pursued by the Warriors as they sought to bring the Kiwi international back home. However, the 28-year-old has reaffirmed his loyalty to the Panthers, the club he has played for since making his NRL debut in 2016.

Speaking on his decision, Fisher-Harris expressed his deep connection to the club and its culture. “Penrith is my home. The Panthers have given me everything, and I want to continue building on what we’ve created here. I respect the Warriors and what they’re doing, but my heart is with Penrith,” he said.

The Warriors’ offer was reportedly substantial, reflecting their ambition to strengthen their forward pack with a world-class enforcer. However, Fisher-Harris’s decision reinforces Penrith’s ability to retain their top talent despite interest from rival clubs.

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary praised Fisher-Harris for his commitment, calling him a “warrior in every sense” and a leader within the squad. “He sets the standard for us, and having him locked in for the long term is massive for our club,” Cleary stated.

Fisher-Harris has been instrumental in Penrith’s three consecutive premierships (2021-2023) and remains one of the most dominant forwards in the game. His decision to stay ensures the Panthers retain a key piece of their premiership-winning core as they look to extend their dynasty.
