Netflix has announced the production of a new sports documentary series focusing on the Southeastern Conference (SEC) during the 2024 college football season. This series will provide an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at some of college football’s most storied programs, including the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. The series is set to premiere in Summer 2025.

The docuseries aims to immerse viewers in the daily lives of SEC teams, offering unfiltered access to coaches and players both on and off the field. Audiences will experience the passion and drama of the conference through exclusive footage from buses, locker rooms, barbershops, and more. The series will consist of eight 45-minute episodes, providing a comprehensive look at the 2024 season.

South Carolina’s football program will be prominently featured in this series. The Gamecocks had a remarkable 2024 season, finishing with a 9-3 overall record and securing a spot in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl against Illinois. This performance marked one of the best seasons for the Gamecocks in recent years.

The production is being handled by Box To Box Films, the acclaimed studio behind popular sports documentaries such as “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” and “Full Swing.” Their expertise in sports storytelling is expected to bring a dynamic and engaging perspective to the series.

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating that the docuseries will present SEC football in a way never seen before, thanks to the storytelling skills of Box To Box. He emphasized that the series will bring the drama and pageantry of SEC football to a worldwide audience.

South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer also shared his excitement, noting that the 2024 season was special in many ways. He looks forward to seeing the program featured in the upcoming documentary.

This docuseries is part of Netflix’s broader strategy to expand its sports programming, which includes other notable series like “Quarterback,” “Receiver,” and “Simone Biles Rising.” The collaboration with the SEC and Box To Box Films underscores Netflix’s commitment to delivering high-quality sports content to its global audience.

For fans of the South Carolina Gamecocks and college football enthusiasts, this upcoming docuseries promises an unprecedented look into the team’s 2024 season, offering insights and stories that have yet to be told.
