NASCAR, FOX extend, expand rights agreement…

In August 2013, NASCAR and FOX Sports extended and expanded their media rights agreement, enhancing FOX’s coverage of NASCAR events through 2024. This extension added exclusive rights to three additional NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points races and the first 14 NASCAR Nationwide Series events each season. Financial terms were not disclosed.

This agreement ensured that FOX Sports would broadcast the first 16 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races of each season, including the Daytona 500, with nine races on FOX and seven on FOX Sports 1. Additionally, FOX Sports secured exclusive rights to the first 14 NASCAR Nationwide Series points races, all of which would air on FOX Sports 1. The agreement also included coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Unlimited, Budweiser Duel, and NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, as well as all NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races.

This expanded partnership underscored the strong relationship between NASCAR and FOX Sports, aiming to deliver comprehensive coverage and innovative presentations to fans. NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France expressed satisfaction with the agreement, highlighting FOX Sports’ commitment to the sport and its audience.

The collaboration between NASCAR and FOX Sports has been instrumental in bringing the excitement of stock car racing to a broader audience, with both parties continually working to enhance the viewing experience for fans.
