The Roland Garros organization has confirmed that there will be a real tribute to Rafa at the 2025 edition of the French Open.

Rafael Nadal, renowned as the “King of Clay,” has announced his retirement from professional tennis following the 2024 Davis Cup Finals. His illustrious career includes a record 14 French Open titles, underscoring his unparalleled dominance at Roland Garros.

In recognition of his monumental contributions to the sport, the French Tennis Federation (FFT) has confirmed plans to honor Nadal during the 2025 French Open. Gilles Moretton, president of the FFT, stated, “There will, necessarily, be something for Rafael Nadal, a very big tribute.”

This tribute aims to provide Nadal with a fitting send-off at the tournament where he achieved unparalleled success. Moretton emphasized that the tribute would be significant, noting that the previous Davis Cup tribute did not fully reflect Nadal’s legacy.

Additionally, the FFT is considering appointing Nadal as an ambassador for Roland Garros, acknowledging the deep connection between the player and the tournament. Moretton remarked, “The two ‘brands’, Rafael Nadal and Roland-Garros, are one. So yes, we are considering things with him.”

Nadal’s retirement marks the end of an era in tennis, but his legacy, particularly at Roland Garros, will continue to inspire future generations.
