Gilles Moretton, President of the French Tennis Federation (FFT), announced plans for a significant ceremony during the tournament to celebrate Nadal’s remarkable achievements.

Nadal’s illustrious career includes a record 14 French Open titles, underscoring his dominance on clay courts. His final appearance at Roland Garros was in 2024, where he faced Alexander Zverev in the first round. Moretton emphasized the importance of a substantial homage, stating, “We need to do something for Rafael Nadal, a real tribute that’s really important.”

The FFT is also considering appointing Nadal as an official ambassador for Roland Garros, reflecting the deep connection between the player and the tournament. Moretton remarked, “The two ‘brands’, Rafael Nadal and Roland-Garros, are one and the same.”

This forthcoming tribute aims to honor Nadal’s enduring impact on tennis and his special relationship with Roland Garros, ensuring his legacy continues to inspire future
