Ohio State defensive end Jack Sawyer has announced his decision to return to the Buckeyes for the 2024 season, opting to forgo the NFL Draft and continue his collegiate career. Sawyer, who led the team with 6.5 sacks in the 2023 season, shared his decision on social media, stating, “I’m back.
Throughout the 2023 season, Sawyer recorded 48 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 quarterback hurries, earning him second-team All-Big Ten honors from the media and third-team honors from the coaches. His performance solidified his reputation as a formidable defensive presence and a key contributor to the Buckeyes’ defense.
Leading up to the Cotton Bowl, Sawyer hinted at his intention to return, emphasizing his focus on the game and his commitment to his teammates. He stated, “I think that’s one of the big things is, you know, we’re all focused in on this game and nothing else.”
