Carson Beck, the former starting quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, has decided to transfer to the University of Miami, reversing his earlier declaration for the 2025 NFL Draft. This decision comes after Beck sustained a UCL injury in his throwing elbow during the SEC Championship Game against Texas on December 7, 2024, which required surgery and is expected to sideline him until March.
During his tenure at Georgia, Beck led the Bulldogs to a 24-3 record as a starter, amassing 7,912 passing yards and 58 touchdowns over two seasons. Despite these impressive statistics, his draft stock was affected by the elbow injury, prompting him to reconsider his professional aspirations.
At Miami, Beck is set to fill the void left by departing quarterback Cam Ward, who is projected to be a top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. This move also reunites Beck with his girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder, a guard on Miami’s women’s basketball team.
In addition to the athletic and personal benefits, Beck’s transfer to Miami is anticipated to come with a substantial Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) package, reportedly worth up to $4 million.
